A Little About Me

I received my Ph.D. in clinical psychology from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, and continued my clinical training through an internship at Yale University School of Medicine and a fellowship at Harbor UCLA Medical Center.  All of my education and training emphasized evidenced-based practices, which means that the approach I take in therapy is grounded in research.  I collaborate with my clients to choose treatment strategies based on what works.  If you would like to learn more about evidence-based practice in psychology, click here.

I have worked in a range of settings, including community mental health centers, inpatient psychiatric units, partial hospital and intensive outpatient programs, college counseling centers, and outpatient clinics.  Most recently, I served as the Senior Program Director for the Atrium (Acute Trauma Recovery Inpatient Unit) at UPMC Western Psychiatric Hospital.  Prior to this position, I was the Assistant Director of the Dialectical Behavior Therapy Program at the Massachusetts Mental Health Center of Harvard Medical School.  I have also been involved in doing research, teaching, and providing supervision to mental health professionals. I am committed to continually expanding my knowledge and skills as the field of psychology evolves, so that I can provide the best treatments to help my clients reach their goals.
